Every building project involves difficult decisions. Cost, programme, quality, carbon, biodiversity, resilience, user needs and long-term value all matter. But what happens when they pull us in different directions?
Join the Zero Carbon Oxfordshire Partnership and Ward Williams for a different kind of workshop!
Through creative, hands-on activities, realistic project challenges and conversations with people from across the built environment, we’ll explore how different perspectives influence the decisions we make, and how we can navigate competing priorities more constructively.
This isn’t about finding the ‘right’ answer. It’s about challenging assumptions, learning from each other and finding better ways to make decisions together.
What can you expect?
- A highly interactive session, with minimal presentations and plenty of opportunities to contribute.
- Practical exercises exploring how different people approach the same project challenges.
- Conversations with others who face similar pressures but may see things very differently.
- New ideas and approaches to take back to your own projects.
- A complimentary copy of Ward Williams’ Sustainability Pathfinder, with practical tools to support better project decisions.
Who should attend?
Anyone involved in planning, funding, designing, managing, delivering or operating buildings and capital projects.
We’re particularly keen to bring together clients, estate and asset managers, project managers, developers, contractors, designers, commercial professionals and sustainability leads from across Oxfordshire.
No specialist sustainability knowledge is required, just a willingness to share your experiences, challenge assumptions and hear different perspectives.
